They are technically tender perennials usually grown as annuals, offering a massive payoff of blooms from spring all the way until the first frost.

Petunia require about 6 hours of sunlight a day. Plant in well-draining soil. Water them deeply about once a week—or more frequently during intense summer heat—making sure to water the base of the plant to keep the foliage dry and prevent disease.
