Calathea are a popular indoor plant due to their decorative leaves. The genus Calathea includes some of the most beautiful and striking tropical foliage plants in the world. Calathea species generally have boldly marked, upright, oblong leaves in a dazzling array of colours held on long, upright stalks.

Calathea plants prefer bright, indirect light. They are native to the understory of tropical rainforests, so they thrive in filtered sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Calathea plants are sensitive to both overwatering and underwatering. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, but avoid letting the soil dry out completely.
